Marbella
Marbella is Spain’s premier resort town and renowned for its luxurious lifestyle and beautiful surroundings. Marbella’s motto is “A Way of Life” and this epitomises the vibrant and unique culture of the town.
Marbella has long been known for its super-rich and famous residents, and certainly the many luxury boutiques, fine restaurants and premier hotels attest to the privileged nature of this inimitable town. What is perhaps not so well known is the diversity of life in Marbella, a twelve-month resort where the original fishing families live alongside the wealthy and privileged.
Marbella has a long history that has been made all the richer by its Moorish influence, which is still evident in the fabled “Orange Square”. Plaza de Los Naranjos, as Orange Square is known in Spanish, is the centrepiece of Marbella Old Town - a charming maze of narrow, cobbled streets populated by boutiques, art galleries, artisan workshops, local and international restaurants, boutique hotels and rambling houses.
Below Marbella Old Town is Alameda Park with its beautiful tropical gardens, Andalucian fountain and Moorish geometrical marble floor. The park hosts a regular Artisan Market where you can find products from all over the world. Pass through the park towards the sea and you will find the Avenida del Mar, a marble walkway lined with Dali sculptures and tropical flowers leading down to Paseo Maritimo, the marble promenade that runs along the coast from Central Marbella to Puerto Banus.
Marbella’s sunny beaches stretch 26 kilometres from the dunes of Cabopino in the East to Guadalmina in the West. There are many restaurants serving fresh fish and traditional favourites such as sardines on a spit. You will find every sporting activity under the sun in Marbella, including its famous world-class golf courses and tennis clubs.
For glitz and glamour Puerto Banus is the place to see and to be seen. The cafés in the port are the perfect place to watch the world go by, as well as the magnificent yachts and cruising super cars. The casinos, clubs and bars make an evening in Puerto Banus an experience not to be missed.
Property in Marbella is extremely diverse and ranges from studios to palatial villas set in landscaped gardens. There are properties for all budgets, especially if you are willing to consider local areas and older properties in need of modernisation. The luxury property market in Marbella is long established and unlimited in what it can offer.
It is not only the standard of property that makes Marbella the most desirable place to live on the coast. An impeccable level of security, modern infrastructure, designer shopping, fine dining, vibrant nightlife and the best climate in Europe are just some of the many reasons that make a Marbella property so sought after.
